Panama is located in Central America between 7° 11′ and 9° 37′ north of the equator and covers 75.990 square/km. It is a big isthmus bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, between Colombia and Costa Rica.
Panama has a tropical climate with uniformly high temperatures, making it ideal for sailing since it is outside of the hurricane belt. In fact Panama has never experienced a single hurricane!
