About Bocas del Toro

Bocas del Toro is located in the Caribbean northwest corner of the Isthmus of Panama, bordering Costa Rica to the west. This beautiful archipelago contains 9 islands, 52 cays and around 200 lagoons encircled by tiny coral islets, making it a paradise for yacht charter.

Bocas del Toro Archipelago
The sea and the untouched splendor of the islands are Bocas del Toro’s main attractions, which have been kept almost intact, the way Christopher Columbus found them when he arrived in 1502.
It is a unique destination in the Caribbean Sea, in which two very different environments coexist: on the one hand, there are mangrove islets in a lake-like scenery and lush rain forests with aboundant fauna and flora, and on the other hand, we found white sand beaches and spectacular coral reefs with colourful tropical fish.
There are deeply vegetated islands, where different kinds of monkeys, birds, iguanas, and brightly coloured frogs are among the island’s animal inhabitants.

The population of Bocas del Toro is made up of mainly indigenous tribes, such as Ngöbe-Buglé, Guaymie and Teribe, and a mix of people originally from Jamaica and from mainland Panama. Life in Bocas is calm and relaxed, like in any other Caribbean island.
